Author Erica Domesek started out online at www.psimadethis.com with a Sharpie and a glue gun, re-creating her favourite looks from fashion magazines, runway shows and celebrity sightings. (Her latest online project is Jennifer Lopez in a Zuhair Murad poncho from the Golden Globes.)
With her can-do motto – “I see it. I like it. I make it.” – Domesek’s book features 25 easy step-by-step instructions on how to whip up trendy pieces on a dime — perhaps a faux-fur vest or a striped sailor shirt.
Sure, you may not have a fully stocked craft kit, like Domesek does, but sometimes all you need is a little inspiration.

With a little artisanal impulse, it's amazing what the layperson can whip up. I've been fascinated by silk flowers for years - on hats, as pins, etc.
