Studs have reigned supreme in the embellishment kingdom for a number of years now.
But as is the way of the fashion world, the end of one dynasty brings a completely contradictory contender for the throne — and what’s more opposite to a hard-edged stud than a softly tied bows?
Marchesa put a big one on the front of a jacket and Yves Saint Laurent put lots of little ones down the front of a shirt, while Luella and Marc by Marc Jacob put medium sized ones right on top of models’ heads.
Sorry studs, it’s time to relinquish the crown to your ribbony rival.
